This razor is shave-ready and is, therefore, literally RAZOR-SHARP. This means that
the edge will cut at a touch. IT IS NOT A TOY. It is intended for use as a facial
or body hair remover ONLY. This razor has been honed and stropped to this stage and
I must again stress that, if you are not familiar with the techniques of handling
this type of razor, it must be treated with the respect shown to any very sharp knife
or instrument. If, of course, you are familiar with straight razor shaving then I
trust you will appreciate this fine example of the razor-maker’s art!
The spine is here seen to good effect, the ‘working’ standing out beautifully.
Another good view of the worked spine and the laminations of the Red Stamina wood
can also be clearly seen. It’s even better in real life!

Another great-looking piece from Thiers-Issard, this ‘historic’ pattern would not
have been out of place in the 1840’s - the dreadnought point gives the blade a particularly
purposeful look!
