This razor is shave-ready and is, therefore, literally RAZOR-SHARP. This means that
the edge will cut at a touch. IT IS NOT A TOY. It is intended for use as a facial
or body hair remover ONLY. This razor has been honed and stropped to this stage and
I must again stress that, if you are not familiar with the techniques of handling
this type of razor, it must be treated with the respect shown to any very sharp knife
or instrument. If, of course, you are familiar with straight razor shaving then I
trust you will appreciate this fine example of the razor-maker’s art!

Now on sale - the new ‘OakWing G’ 7/8 razor! Here are a few shots to give you an
idea of just what a truly superb razor this is..........................
7/8 dreadnought point ‘Grelot form’ blade in C135 ‘Carbonsong’ steel, hardened to
above Rockwell scale 60 to give superb sharpness and edge retention. The deep thumb
notch and jimping give a positive grip.
The Maple box is beautifully finished and each one is inlaid with the Thiers-issard
‘Wing’ motif, on this model complete with razor serial number and oak leaf logo.
This is repeated on the back of the tang as seen below so you can be sure that this
razor goes with this box for total authenticity!
To the left is a close-up of the spine showing the Grelot ‘G’ and oak leaves. This
oak leaf motif is repeated along the entire length of the spine, interspersed with
the le Grelot ‘bell’ logo. Each leaf is slightly different, giving a real feel of
the craftsmanship involved. In deep 3-D this is one example of decorative spine work
that will never wear away!
A top-class razor deserves a top-class box and here Thiers-issard have certainly
produced ‘the business’ - the Maple box has a lustrous finish and is a perfect complement
to the razor.
